Joshua See – Director of Photography

Joshua See is a Toronto-based cinematographer, filmmaker, and biologist with a deep respect and passion for the natural world. With formal training in the natural sciences and environmental visual journalism, Josh has worked for nearly a decade in remote locations in Africa, South Asia, Europe, the Caribbean, North America, and Central and South America. As technology advances and the human and natural worlds shift into unknown places, two constants remain: the importance of impactful imagery and of good story. It is within these two classic realms that Josh anchors his work. Joshua has worked with various organizations including The Royal Ontario Museum, Alternatives Journal, Orion Magazine, WWF, The Globe and Mail, TVO, CBC, PBS, ARTE, Youth Without Shelter, ArtStarts and the Iwokrama Forest. Joshua was nominated for Best Photography, Documentary or Factual at the 2019 Canadian Screen Awards for his work on the project Mommy Wildest, again with Caitlin Starowicz and Mark Starowicz, for CBC’s The Nature of Things.
